Do not read this text as transcript of an actual conversation, but rather as script of a play with assigned roles. The panel discussion on which this text is based took place in 2018 at Villa Empain Brussels. Ideally, the text should be sung by a choir. By transforming this panel discussion into a "singspiel" we generate space for a substantive experience. The transformation from spoken word to a sung melody stimulates the senses in a completely different way, the change of medium brings new information to life. The conversion of individual voices to a collective of voices (polyphony) plays an important role in this change (McLuhan: the medium is the message, 1964). The roles performed are those of the panel members, namely curators a, b & c, moderator, audience, organizer and artists.
